A makeover is often a way for women to start fresh and uplift themselves; the physical changes have positive effects on the emotional part of the woman. Her self-confidence is boosted and she feels ready to take on the world. Have you ever considered a revamping of your business? For women who have been in business for years, they have found proven methods to make things work and don’t think they should reinvent the wheel. However, change is good. New tools and strategies are being introduced quite often in the business world and a good female entrepreneur is sure to be an ongoing learner for the sake of her business’ success.
One proven way to improve your sales and grow your business is through search engine optimization (SEO). For all you digital foreigners, you are probably already thinking that SEO is too difficult for you to do or to understand. Contrary to popular belief, there are a few easy steps you can take to rejuvenate your business through some work on your website.
What is SEO? Search engine optimization is the process of improving the visibility of your website on search engine results. This simply means that your webpage is more likely to come up on Google search results and other search engines easier and earlier. Not many of us click past the first few pages of search results and SEO is a way to ensure your site appears closer and closer to the top of the results.
1. Don’t overwhelm your pages with graphics
Take a good hard look at your website. Anything text that is in a graphic or flash animation will not be read by the search engines. Is your logo graphic the only place the name of your company appears? Then you are virtually invisible. For the graphics that you do have, be sure to include the alternative text describing what the photo is and have image names for each.
2. Create Content
Add articles, press releases, information about your products and services to increase the amount of relevant content to your site. Search engines like pages with longer text because it is usually more beneficial to the reader.
3. Add a Sitemap to easily allow search engines to find all the information contained in your site. Be sure that your pages have descriptive names that identify the information that it contains
These easy steps will have you on your way to a more searchable webpage. The more people that find you, the more business leads you will gain.
