As a business owner you can’t avoid criticisms and negative feedbacks. It’s all part of the game. But it’s one thing to listen to constructive criticisms; it’s another to let yourself be sucked into that black hole of negativity. The business world is unpredictable and tough, you need to focus your energy strategizing and planning, there’s no room for negativity.

Following are some helpful tips on how to counter negative vibes and always stay positive:

1.       Avoid negative conversations. As much as a possible, avoid getting into conversation with a serial complainer – someone who does nothing but complain – you’ll end up feeling annoyed or stressed out. If it’s something unavoidable, don’t get sucker. Try to counter his/her negative attitude by looking at the positive side of things.

If she says “I have too many clients to handle!”, counter it with “Well, that’s a problem most entrepreneurs would love to have. At least you have more than enough clients.”

2.       Don’t make excuses. Whenever you feel like making an excuse, no matter how small, stop yourself. As a woman entrepreneur, you shouldn't make a habit of making excuses.

3.       Always think things over. If you hear negative feedback about your startup business, don’t try to answer right away. If it’s your business, you can’t avoid being a bit emotionally involved. And you don’t want to get carried away by emotions when answering negative comments. Think things over first, make sure that you have a clear head when replying to any negative comment or feedback.

4.       Forgive your lapses. Your computer crashes. You miss a deadline. You forget to make that follow-up email. Everyone makes mistakes, don’t be too hard on yourself. The less pressure you put on yourself, the less you’ll complain. The less frequently you complain and rant, the better you become at avoiding negative vibes.

Over to you..

Do you believe that negative vibes can affect productivity and how efficient you are as a woman entrepreneur? How about you? What do you do to avoid negative energies? Please share your comments below.
