4 Top Reasons Why Customers Aren't Buying From You

The most important thing about selling a product or service is making sure that what your offering can be of real value to whomever is buying it. If you’re feeling frustrated because your marketing efforts are not giving you the desired results and you’re having difficulty making new sales, then it may be high time to re-evaluate your strategies and come up with a new marketing approach.

Below are the top 5 reasons why customers aren’t buying from you and the measures that you can take to change them:

1.       Customers don’t trust your brand yet

This happens when you’re new in the industry or you were not able to really promote and market your business the right way. People are not aware of the name of your company and the products that you’re selling.

You can have this corrected by learning more about your target audience – their problems, their needs, what makes them tick, and where and how you can best reach them.

2.       You’re offering an unfamiliar product or service

People are skeptical about a newly launched product or service especially if what you’re offering is something entirely different. The best way to go about this is to make a lot of noise and buzz about the product before launching it. Market it, promote it.

Also, one good way to win over those skeptical customers is by offering a trial version of your product or service.

3.       They don’t understand the benefits of the product or service

People will buy your product if they clearly see the benefits they’ll get from it. It is very important that you focus/highlight the benefits when marketing and promoting your products.

4.       Your product is not easily accessible

Even if you successfully promote your product and service, if they are not easily accessible to your customers, you might as will just forget it. Unless you’re offering limited-edition collectibles, your target audience should be able to access and buy your products without any hassle.

Setup an online store front or a sales page for your products and services and seamlessly incorporate payment options on that page.

If you have a products or services that offer genuine benefits to the buyers, offer them solutions to their problems, satisfy their needs, free up their time and make their lives better in general, then you shouldn’t worry about selling them.  They’ll get sold. The key is to market your products right and to educate people as to why they need them. It’s all about brand awareness.

Over to you..

Wow! This is one of those posts that make total and complete sense when I read it, but would have never been able to articulate in such a straight forward way.

I'm always amazed how the first people start something that becomes a trend. Pop-up "museums" and escape rooms come to mind. Their marketing teams must be amazing!

These are valid points. It's also good to ask the question WHY, why would my customer buy from me and not my competitors. Thanks for sharing!

Point 2 is very true, when people are not familiar with the product, they get skeptical and may take times to convince them. Just need patience.

Totally agree with all these points. So often I've purchased a course or a service online and then it's painful to get access. It has to be easy!

Great advice! And I agree, potential customers tend to gravitate towards products that are familiar with them.
