Social media is not just something the kids are obsessed with these days. We can all agree that it is the new way of connecting and communicating with our family, friends and for those of us in business; customers. In this blog post I will be sharing with you 5 simple tips on how to create an effective social media presence. My first tip is one I always start with when working with my clients and students. ---->>>> Who are you trying to reach, whose attention are you looking to attract? <<<<---- Maybe you have seen it asked this way: Who is Your Ideal Audience? Defining your ideal audience first is going to save you a ton of time and allow you to streamline your content to speak directly to your potential customers and clients. So, first thing to do is to Identify Your Ideal Audience. Let's move forward to my second tip, shall we? :-) Build relationships, not just followers. Keep in mind that people do business with people they know, like and trust. The beauty of Social Media is that it allows you the opportunity to reach millions and millions of people; however, instead of just focusing on numbers, start focusing on building a strong relationship with the people who currently follow your feeds. My third tip ties into my last tip. Just be uniquely you. Being yourself is so important when using social media to grow your business. See, the truth is, we aren't meant to attract and serve everyone. Your marketing should be attracting and repelling people online. Being yourself allows you to attract the people you are meant to serve. Showing your personality will help you resonate with the people who find similarities, common ground, in your style. Your way of speaking, the way you look, the way you sounds. All of that is uniquely you and is meant to benefit you and your business. There are millions and million of people in the world so, you won't be losing those clients and followers your are meant to serve. So, be yourself. Next tip. Stay Active. This can become a challenge for busy and overwhelmed business women, which is why this is one of our most popular services we offer. Most will be consistent for a week or two, maybe even a whole month but then others tasks like serving clients, making sales calls, attending meetings and events get in the way. So, social media marketing gets pushed to the side. When done consistently, social media marketing can generate a consistent flow of leads, that you can convert into clients. So, if you are truly interested in building a solid, consistent online brand, start making social media marketing a top priority and begin creating engaging content that sparks conversation. Or, let us help. This last tip is all about knowing the platforms you use most often. See, studying the platforms helps you understand the algorithm of those platforms. Tracking how you content is being consumed, which types of content performs best. Or even the best times to post. To recap, here are my 5 tips on how to create and effective social media presence in a snapshot: 1. Identify Your Ideal Audience 2. Build Relationships, not just followers 3. Just be yourself -- you are unique and that's your superpower 4. Stay Active with engaging content that sparks conversation 5. Such great reminders - thanks! Esp the part about repelling people - sometimes I am afraid about who being FULLY ME might turn off, but this has helped me reframe that risk as a positive!

The most important thing in blogging is definitely to build a relationship with the people who follow you. I think them knowing you and you knowing them helps get your stuff put out there more for sure.
