There is no discounting that Facebook is perhaps the most popular social networking site in the world. The numbers of active users are more than 900 million people worldwide with over 165 million logging on from the U.S. as of the second quarter of 2012, according to checkfacebook.com.  The statistics vary however and will increase in numbers as the months go by.  This phenomenal success of Facebook or FB as many commonly calls it, has become a platform for many businesses big and small.  Start-ups and established entrepreneurs alike use FB to reach their market and potential clientele.  

There is a Facebook page for your personal use and there is also a page for business.      We highly recommend that you set up a business page for business and keep your message consistent and your personal page for just that, personal stuff. Whether you create a personal or a business account, Facebook is FREE to set up. The fees come in when you hire or subscribe to an online company for the personalization of your Facebook business fan page or when you create custom tabs using paid tools and FB ads, which we will discuss separately in another blog article.  Going back though, incurring fees depend on whether you hire an expert for the customization of your page or you resort to the DIY or do-it-yourself approach, which will cost you nothing.
