Business women aim to be as productive as possible during the work-day. It is something we hear often from our members and mastermind clients on a far-too-regular basis.
How to Effectively Manage Your Time and Increase Productivity. As I lead the charge of helping women entrepreneurs make more money in their businesses. I often emphasis the benefits of gaining clarity and staying focused on the (revenue-generating) action steps that make for successful businesses. With that said, I stay learning new ways and ideas business women can achieve these goals. While reading 6 Easy Tricks To Keep You Focused While Working by Allen Brouwer on Best Self, I was quite intrigued by his #1 Trick for staying focused; hence this blog post. I told you, I love to share with you what I have learned. As much as this might seem to be an odd tip, I must tell you that, it did increase my focus! Yes, I tested it out myself! I placed a pen in my mouth while typing this very article. Almost instantly I felt a difference. Apparently, placing a pen or pencil in your mouth forces your facial muscles to make a "smile". This inadvertent smile will actually trigger subconscious mental and emotional triggers that will improve your mood, increase your immune system and relives stress, according to Allen's tip. A link in the article further supported that researchers have concluded that this one act alone has many health benefits as well. If you are going to be working on a long project that is less than enjoyable, you might as well trick yourself into being happy while doing it. I say: Yes! Yes! Yes! to being happy! To sum things up, go for it and try out this productive tip. If you are a woman in business, often times you work alone from home. In addition to the regularly scheduled in-person networking I recommend every business woman should be doing, I also recommend trying new things that help you smile and keep you focused on the task at-hand, as this is a major benefit to your business success. Over to you, have heard of this productivity tip before? Have you tried it? What are your thoughts on productivity and focus? I'd love to read your comments!
