When you’re running a company, you’re life will be jam-packed with meetings, conferences and other networking events. Every now and then, the need to travel – whether for business or pleasure – will arise.
Fortunately for you, there’s now a ton of easy-to-install mobile apps that can help you travel smarter and more efficiently. Below are just five of them:
If you’re travelling on company’s expense, then you need keep track of all your expenses as you may need to submit a post-travel expense report. And all that tedious tracking is made convenient with Expensify – it does your expense report for you!
You can upload information directly to your phone by just taking a quick snapshot of your receipt. Expensify has a cool scanning system that extract necessary details like date, amount and merchant’s name from the photo you’ve taken.
Evernote is a very handy app for travelling entrepreneurs. It can capture everything – your notes, ideas, things you hear and see – and conveniently store them in one place for easy retrieval. And speaking of easy retrieval, did I mention that Evernote has a feature that allows you to retrieve any scanned document or photographed image by just using any identifiable text in them?
This app is perfect for entrepreneurs who want to remotely access their home or office computers while on travel. With PocketCloud, you can access desktop applications like Outlook, Word and Photoshop right on your phone.
The great thing about having this app on your mobile device is that you can take lots of photos during your travel and upload them directly into the Dropbox cloud, thus saving you precious memory space. Also, you can easily store important documents on Dropbox and then just go and access them whenever you need them. Plus every file you store on the cloud can be shared via links.
When you’re on vacation, you may want to have a way for your team to reach you whenever necessary. Skype offers you just that. You can IM, make quick calls or video chat with anybody at your office on the cheap or for free. It’s a great way to stay in touch
There are quite a few more great apps out there that you may want to have with you during one of your travels, but I highly recommend the 5 apps I mentioned above. I have them on my own mobile device and I always find them helpful.
