If you’re an entrepreneur, chances are you are working too many hours – much more than you want to. And let’s be honest, the long hours and the erratic schedule, plus all the stress that comes with being 'your own Boss’, can take a huge toll on your health.
To be able to ensure that you’re always on top of your game, you have to stay healthy and fit. As they say, a business is only as healthy as the one who runs it. And with that said, here are some 5 simple changes in your day that you can stick with and create a healthy habit from: 1. Get up and walk around every hour Sitting for an extended period of hours is very unhealthy. Make it a habit to walk around every hour. You can call a client while standing up or give instructions to your employees. Just get up from your desk and walk. 2. Skip the energy drinks If you can’t go a day without your daily fix of energy drink, then you are in trouble. While they seem to be a good energy booster, energy drinks can make you more tired in the long run. The chemicals they contain and the caffeine can make you restless at night, thus you get less sleep than you need. 3. Try some walking meetings Not only is it great to sneak some exercise in but, for the right type of meeting, getting up and talking outside the office can really energize both you and the people you’re meeting. It also helps expand the conversation. 4. Do some stretching It’s impossible to have a positive attitude if you’re feeling sore and achy all the time. Do some simple on-chair stretching to loosen those stiff muscles. 5. Have some ‘silent’ time Close the door of your office. Unplug your computer, turn off your phone, close your eyes, take a deep breath and enjoy the silence. Just relax. Switching off for a few minutes can really help you de-stress.
