As an entrepreneur, we always have the tendency to say YES to everything. Thinking that if we say NO, we’ll miss an opportunity. But to become a more successful entrepreneur, we definitely have to learn to say NO to these 4 things below:
1. Say NO to quitting. Seriously, you’ll never get anywhere if you keep on quitting every time something get’s too hard or too difficult to handle. Most successful entrepreneurs today have been down the trenches, more than once, but they never gave up. Running a business isn’t supposed to be easy.
When you reach that very moment where you want to quit, keep going, you’re actually almost there.
2. Say NO to procrastination. Procrastinating doesn’t mean you’re not doing something. You can still be procrastinating even if you’re actually doing a lot of things. When you do less urgent tasks because you don’t enjoy working on more urgent ones, that’s procrastination.
Procrastinating can add a lot of stress because when you postpone doing something, you end up cramming, pressured with the deadlines.
3. Say NO to complaining. You can whine every now and then. It’s one way of venting out frustrations and stress. But if you do it too often, without even making an honest effort to proactively deal with the things that stresses you out, then the complaining won’t stop.
Remember, complaining and whining is never healthy. It limits your ability to problem-solve, and because you’re too focused with the little things, you’ll eventually lose sight of the big picture.
4. Say NO sometimes. When you say YES to something, you inevitable say NO to another thing. When you say YES to overtime at work, you say NO to spending dinner with your family. When you say YES to procrastination, you say NO to progress.
It’s actually about knowing your priorities and learning how to say NO to things of lesser priority.
