What you do on the first few hours of your work day can significantly affect your productivity the entire day. It is therefore important that you stick to a morning routine that will help you achieve better results for the next 8 hours of your day and sets you up for greater success.
Here are 5 tips to help kick-start your day towards productivity: 1. Do some stretching Start your day with something that would help you shake the cobwebs off your system. A run, a stretch or a few minutes of meditation will help get your energy flowing and put you in the right frame of mind for work. 2. Get that extra jolt If you want to face each working day with an extra jolt, have a cup of coffee, give yourself a cold shower, or go make a protein shake. 3. Always start your day with a full stomach If you’re hungry, there’s no way you’ll be able to focus on your work. Always make sure that you eat a full healthy meal every day – taking care of yourself is one of the first things that will help you maintain a positive disposition each day. 4. Prepare a short to-do list As mentioned in previous articles, writing down a lengthy to do list won’t help you become more productive. If you really have a long list of tasks that needs to be tackled, list them all down, then make short list of 2-5 things that you need to get done that day no matter what. So even if you weren’t able to finish everything on your long list, you were still able to work on the priority tasks and this will make you feel good rather than inadequate. 5. Don’t let your inbox eat your time I actually suggest that you don’t do emails in the morning. There’s nothing urgent there, because if it’s urgent someone will call or text you. But….if not taking a peek at your inbox first thing in the morning makes you uneasy, you should at least learn to sift the wheat from the chaff. Priority-scan your inbox and only respond to emails that you think are more urgent than the rest. Schedule a time later that day to respond to all other emails. Final thoughts How you begin your mornings will basically set your tone and disposition for the day. If you commit yourself to maintaining good work habits in the morning, you’ll always end your day feeling accomplished and productive. Over to you.. Do you have a morning routine? Is it making you a more productive woman entrepreneur? Please share your thoughts and comments below. We would love to hear them.
