Debbi Fields had a very simple business recipe for success: treat people with care and respect and provide quality ingredients. Mrs. Fields was a housewife with no prior business experience. She opened her first store in Palo Alto, California in 1977 and now franchises 280 stores in the United States alone. Her business grew because of her determination to create quality products and her commitment to her customers. She was very conscious of her loyal customers, making them feel special and important through small gestures such as having their order ready when they arrived or providing coffee with a sale. Her personal values were instilled in the company. Her motto “ Good Enough Never Is,” has earned the company a reputation for quality products and excellent customer service. Her success is a result of her customers’ loyalty.

Mrs. Fields is an inspiring entrepreneur because she was a humble woman that built her name into a brand symbol for quality treats worldwide. She built her company from scratch with a dream and a recipe. Success is found in the tireless execution of an idea.
